I like to think about planetary transitions in astrology in a similar way.
Understanding Planetary Transitions in Astrology
When a planet enters a new zodiac sign, astrologers call this an ingress.
In the tropical zodiac, this happens when a planet's apparent position crosses a specific zodiac boundary.
But does that mean everything in our lives suddenly changes?
Not necessarily.
Astrology uses planetary movements as symbols for exploring different themes and experiences. The exact moment of an ingress can be calculated, but our personal circumstances rarely transform overnight.
Why Change Is Often a Gradual Process
Imagine the Irish coastline before a storm.
The sky darkens. The sea begins to move differently. The wind becomes stronger.
And eventually, the rain arrives.
This is my personal metaphor for understanding change, not a scientific explanation of planetary influence.
In everyday life, we may notice something similar.
A new idea develops slowly. An old habit becomes uncomfortable. A familiar situation begins to feel different.
Sometimes we only recognise a turning point after looking back.
